About Us

The Mission of The Montessori Learning Center is to provide a carefully planned, motivating environment to help children develop essential habits, attitudes, skills and ideas for a lifetime of learning.

Children are in a mixed age grouping to foster leadership, peer-teaching and spontaneous group interaction. The teacher's objective is to help the children discover and fulfill their maximum potential through the preparation of the environment. The teacher also has the duel role of acting as a catalyst through teacher initiated activities and as an observer of the child's self discovery.

Enrollment capacity is twenty-five students with one head teacher and one assistant.

The Montessori Learning Center is directed by Elizabeth Williams. Elizabeth is a certified Elementary I Montessori teacher and an Indiana State licensed 1-6 elementary teacher.

Elizabeth is also a wife and a mother of three children. She has 5 years experience in the public schools and 11 years experience in Montessori education. Montessori Elementary Certification was received from Seacoast Centers in Boston, MA and her teaching degree from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
